Conserving Resources - Protecting the Atmosphere
TULIKIVI ovens are fueled with wood, a source of energy which regrows naturally, in contrast to fossil fuels such as crude oil, gas or coal. In this way the limited energy resources are conserved and the atmosphere protected against pollution. For the combustion of fossil fuels such as crude oil, gas or coal releases CO2 into the atmosphere which has been tied to the earth for millions of years and which now contributes to the greenhouse effect. When untreated logs are burned, the quantity of carbon dioxide produced is no more than would be released by the natural process of decomposition in the forest. In other words, the earth's carbon dioxide cycle remains unchanged, and there is no contribution to the greenhouse effect.

A Naturally Clean Solution
The rapid burning down of firewood produces such high temperatures that no carbonization gases can form. It thus releases significantly smaller quantities of sulphur dioxide and coal gas than fossil fuels. The average carbon dioxide value under normal burning conditions, for example, is only 0.2%.

Countercurrent Principle
A patented construction idea from TULIKIVI which makes it possible to make almost full use of the thermal energy in flue gases. With the countercurrent principle the hot flue gases are forced through an intelligent system of channels through the oven in such a way that no warmth is lost.

The Natural CO2 Loop
Trees absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. In the decomposition process in the forest or on combustion in TULIKIVI ovens it is returned to the air. The loop begins again.
